Eat Chokaisan Jindai Chestnuts

The work involves replicating and shrinking a 2500-year-old Jindai chestnut, transforming it into chocolate, and then consuming it.

The Jindai chestnut chocolate was distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to visitors at the Kosudo ART Project 2021+. The Jindai chestnut she encountered in Kosudo had been buried in the ground for an extended period and appeared before her, transcending time. She viewed this tree as a fossil and considered ways to connect the distant past with the present through her art. She made a mold, inverted it, and poured in the chocolate. By turning the Jindai chestnut into chocolate and eating it, she wondered if it would be possible to absorb 2500 years of time into her body.
